Youth Faith Formation

The Youth Ministry Program, for 6th through 12th Grade, focuses on empowering young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, to draw youth to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community and to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

For information on current events, see the youth page of the church bulletin.

Adult leaders (25 years and older) are needed for:

  2. Confirmation Year:
After completing one year of religious education, students may enroll in the OLL Parish Confirmation Preparation Program. Reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is in the Spring.

Please download and complete the Confirmation Registration form here.

Please Note: Cardinal Gibbons High School and St. Thomas More Academy do not have Confirmation preparation classes.

CONFIRMATION QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION FOR YOUTH:

As part of the intellectual formation of the Candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation, Bishop Burbridge has asked that the Candidates be formed so that they may clearly convey the teachings of the Church.  The preparation includes studying the Catholic faith, by praying and witnessing to Christ.

To assist in this, the Diocese is providing a video of questions and answers that the Confirmandi are expected to know prior to receiving the sacrament. The video presentation features Bishop Burbidge and twenty-six students from the Diocese of Raleigh discussing the questions and answers.

The video, which is available below, provides an opportunity for parents, sponsors and all Catholic faithful to review basic teaching of our faith.
