Bereavement Committee

Provides a light meal after the funeral.

Time Commitment – 1 to 3 hours per funeral

Prayer Blanket Ministry

This ministry is for anyone in the parish in need of prayer and comfort during a serious illness. In time of anxiety and suffering, people need to know that they are covered in love and prayers by the faith Community of Our Lady of Lourdes. Each blanket is sewn by a member of the parish, blessed by Father John Forbes and includes special prayers and a letter of encouragement.

Time Commitment – 1 hour sewing time per blanket

Shut-in/Nursing Home Ministry

Visit and bring the Eucharist to shut-in parishioners and Catholics in area nursing homes. Call the parish office to volunteer or if you would like to receive the Eucharist at home.

Time Commitment – 1 to 2 hours per month

Nursery

Provides free childcare during the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. The nursery is for children 6 months – 3 years of age.

Time Commitment – 1 to 2 hours per week

Wedding Committee

Offered to couples who will be married at Our Lady of Lourdes parish. Committee is responsible for setting up and directing weddings. Volunteers needed for wedding rehearsals and on the day of wedding.

Time Commitment – 5 hours per wedding

Parish Library

Provides a variety of spiritual reading materials to parishioners. The library is located on the upper level of the church next to the rooms of reconciliation. Donations of books or funds to the library are welcomed.

Time Commitment – 30 – 45 minutes per week
