There are two categories of adorers who need to be concerned about the time changes: those with the Sunday morning 2 a.m. adoration hour and those with Sunday morning adoration hours that begin at 3 a.m. or later Focusing on Sunday morning adoration hours, those with midnight and 1 a.m. hours proceed as normally. The time change does not affect you. The 2 a.m. adorers are the ones who may need to adjust. For the Spring adjustment, changing from standard time to daylight savings time, you have no adoration hour. Officially, the change from standard to daylight savings time occurs at 2 a.m. That is, as soon as it gets to 2 a.m., it immediately becomes 3 a.m.. Thus your hour disappears. You are still welcome and encouraged to come in for an hour of adoration. For the Fall adjustment, changing from daylight savings time to standard time, the change also occurs at 2 a.m. However, there are now two hours between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.. The regularly scheduled 2 a.m. adorers are responsible for the first 2 a.m. shift. The coordinators will ensure that the second hour of the 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. time period is covered. Please check with them to ensure adoration coverage for this time. Those persons with adoration hours that begin at 3 a.m. or later, need to arrive at the appropriate time, but it will be an hour earlier or later. In the Spring (spring forward), your adoration hour occurs an hour earlier than one would expect. In the Fall (fall back), your adoration hour occurs an hour later than one would expect. The 2006 change from eastern standard time to eastern daylight time occurs on Sunday, April 2, at 2:00 am eastern standard time. The 2006 change from eastern daylight time to eastern standard time occurs on Sunday, October 29 at 2:00 am eastern daylight time. The 2007 change from eastern standard time to eastern daylight time is currently scheduled to occur on Sunday, March 11, at 2:00 am eastern standard time. The 2007 change from eastern daylight time to eastern standard is currently scheduled to occur on Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 am eastern daylight time. |
