Greeter Schedule
Thank you!
Many thanks to all of you and especially to those who serve, week after week!
Greeters serve as the initial welcome to parishioners and visitors at all weekend liturgies and other special liturgical celebrations, as well as assist with the distribution of worship aids.
Instructions for Ministers of Hospitality (Greeters)
- Keep up with the schedule and find a substitute if you are unable to serve. Use the Email notification list to find subs.
- Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to begin to welcome the congregation.
- Greeter lanyards can be found on the corkboard in the Altar Server room (pass the woman’s restroom and it’s the next door on the right). The corkboard is on the wall to the left.
- Always be prepared for your ministry at each Mass you attend. You should always be suitably attired.
- Offer each person a program. You are welcoming people to the house of God and their spiritual home. Please do not treat each person as a visitor. Welcome them as you would welcome someone arriving home.
- Be attentive to those who leave early to see if they have a special need. They may be having medical difficulties.
- If someone is in distress, ask if you should call an ambulance or what they would like you to do.
- Greeters have assigned seating on the back row of the center aisle pew (on the right if you are facing the altar).
- Greeters assigned to Entrance A typically serve as the Gift Bearers. Please let the ushers know when you arrive that you would like to be the Gift Bearers.
- At the end of Mass, distribute the bulletin and wish people a blessed week.
